In order to help you on your wise decision, the demo for Etrian Odyssey IV will hit the eShop during the summer before the NISA's airship lands in your labyrinth. If it's similar to the one that we received in North America, then there's a good chance that you will be able to transfer the save data to the actual game.
While I'm still in the second area of the game (I've been distracted with other things.), my playthrough has been a blast so far. Despite, it's intense situations, Etrian Odyssey IV can feel very rewarding when you gain the upper hand in each area. That said, congratulation on getting the chance to challenge the perils and FOEs that await you Etrian Odyssey IV's land, Europe. Also, one of the selectable character portraits in the game resembles Rintaro Okabe -- El Psy Congroo.
