Another entry in the increasingly large parade of "Demon King" anime, Hataraku Maou-sama! - FUNimation is streaming the show as The Devil Is A Part-Timer!, a name that seems to imply a different but equally intriguing premise - promises to take the institution that is Dragon Quest and twist it.
But where the likes of Maoyu attempt to revitalize the classic "Demon King v. Hero" setup by injecting complexity through historically-inspired events, Maou-sama! shifts the setting, lifting the Devil out from his world of swords and sorcery, dumping him into our world of paying rent and minimum wage.
With the first episode under our belts, perhaps the best thing one can say about it is "Thank God he isn't in high school."
