After procrastinating writing this post for like...several days, I've realized I have no excuse anymore. I mean I'm sitting here with another two hours to kill before class and nothing else to do. So when I realized I was reading a grammar blog (being the incredible nerd that I am) I decided it was time to get cracking.
Many moons ago, in the days of the winter 2011 anime season, I wrote a blog post on my favorite theme songs of the season. I'm now going to do the same thing for the fall 2012 season. Jeez that's a lot of seasons of separation right there.
Btooom! OP – No pain, No game – Nano
For one thing, I totally love this series. It's becoming one of my favorites of the season. But that has nothing to do with the theme song. I freaking LOVE this song. It opens up so rock-y, and fits the series feel like...perfectly. Plus I'm really into the woman's voice, so I may need to go track down more Nano music.
Favorite part of the song? Around 1:10, with the “only just begun” line. Also the very beginning.
Btooom! ED – Ao Sora – May'n
Yeah, I'm into the ED too. For completely different reasons. I mean listen to it. If the OP fits perfectly with the rock to express that “hey, this series is violent and hardcore”, the ED is like...the direct opposite. Doesn't fit the series at all. It's calm, it's pretty, it tells you that if anything this series is going to be really chill and possibly focused on romance. Thankfully I'm not judging on how well it fits the anime.
At first I wasn't really into the song. It finally caught my attention around the 0:38 mark. It just got so pretty, and the tone she takes right there...yeah, works for me.
K OP – Kings – ?
First thoughts on this song? Jeez woman, shut UP. I do not like you. Stop singing. I maintained that feeling until like...the third episode. So the third time I heard it. Actually the fourth, because I watched the first half of episode three twice. But I was listening, and listening, and suddenly...I liked it. It was like listening to a terrible pop song that you can't stand and realizing you enjoy it, except it's not terrible. It's actually really freaking good and I took a long time to notice. That's my own failure.
The only thing is I'm not sure who it's by, because I can only read one character there. I should totally know the other one. I recognize it. I just fail.
Little Busters! OP – Little Busters! – Rita
Oh god I adore this song. The way it opens up gives me a second of “hm, this is different” and then it keeps going and I can't even identify for you why I love it. It does fit the feeling of the series, and it's cheery and pleasant and especially around the 0:50 mark I just start going “yesssssssss”.
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo – Kimi ga Yume o Tsurete Kita – some of the seiyuu?
Yes. This song is totally a generic peppy OP and there are a thousand more like it. But that doesn't stop me from liking it. So stop judging me.
NOTE: At this point in the writing of this post I returned to the grammar blog for my own amusement.
Shinsekai Yori ED – Wareta Ringo – Risa Taneda
I can't even say anything about the perfection of this song. It's so ridiculously amazing, by FAR my favorite song of the season. I want to like, have its babies. Because somehow that's possible. ...Okay it's not, but I'll make due with just having the full version. Like now please. Come on guys, I really REALLY need it.
...Time to play this on loop for like five hours. (But I have class in one and a half! Oh no!)
