Coming from someone whose main exposure to H.P. Lovecraft's Call of Cthulhu being board games like Arkham Horror and Elder Sign, to me, Haiyore Nyaruko-san has always been a strange vortex of nerd elements that are never seen together. Years since Naryuko-san's catchy theme song first hypnotized brains and took over cellphone ringtones, I am still struggling to reconcile the existence of such a thing, let alone trying to understand it.
The nonsensical moe sit-com got a second season this Spring in the form of Haiyore Nyaruko-san W. Since we've been kind of bare on coverage for the series, it's time to give it a first go-around, even if like many of the Cthulhu lore, it's insane to try to understand.
