It's that time of the year again when springtime comes to the heart of Houston, Texas. When the annual Anime Matsuri anime convention, gathers fans of Japanese pop culture for three days to celebrate our love for well... Japanese pop (and nerd) culture. Located in downtown Houston, Anime Matsuri is an annual Japanese Anime and Pop Culture convention and is a classic Japanator haunt. It's not just nerdy celebration just about anime, but also about Import Reactor, where import car and tuner aficionados show off their sweet rides for everyone to admire.
Dressed up as male genderbend Akemi Homura (referred to as Bromura), I ran around with my classy coat and tie with kickass light up bow and arrow, and took a bunch of awesome cosplay pictures. I even met up with Rose and Kitty, who are the lovely ladies pictured above from Aurum Cosplay. They did such an amazing job cosplaying as Madoka Kaname and Akemi Homura from Madoka Magica, that they won third place in the intermediate category for the cosplay contest, all while facing tough competition. Now, I wasn't able to get a lot of pictures like last year, because there so many more people this year, that the hotel couldn't contain all that awesome. So, if you're looking for more pictures, I recommend checking out the Anime Matsuri Facebook page for pics from fellow con attendees.
