The live action Gatchaman trailer is finally here!

What an exciting week for Science Nina Team Gatchaman fans! First we get some early designs of a new anime series, and now we get the live action trailer! There's not a ton going on here, but we do finally get a glimpse at one of the most important aspects of their ninja suits, the helmets!

They do look cool. They do however, lack a bit of the "bird" influences that made the original suits unique. I can see why they would want to move away from the idea, especially to distinguish it from a sentai-type team. They definitely have my attention at this point, and am eagerly awaiting some sexy God Phoenix designs! Bring on the toys!

Gatchaman is set to hit theaters in Japan on August 24th.

Get a load of this eye popping Gear Third Luffy tattoo

A couple years back, a friend of mine talked about how he wanted to have One Piece's Gear Third Luffy tattooed on his back. While he never had the chance to do it, we all thought that it was a dumb idea, since Gear Third Luffy wouldn't look good on someone's back.

Lord and behold, I am now eating my own word, because someone has figured out how to make Gear Third Luffy into one hell of an awesome tattoo. However, the only difference is that the tattoo is on the person's arm.

Actually, I don't even have to eat anything, due to the fact that the tattoo isn't on the person's back. If anything, I think that my friend will reconsider his plan after he sees the greatness behind the placement that brings out the full impact of Gear Third Luffy's Giant Pistol.

Unsheathe your sword for Muramasa's special blessing

I was originally going to deliver this news in a flash, but I had to outrun an army of ninjas that were trying to keep me from achieving my goal -- I blame those cats that hindered Warmonger Josh's objectives. Luckily, they weren't able to damage any of the fragile goods present, so there will be no interruptions to get in the way.

If Aksys Game's new and improved localization wasn't enough to get you into Muramasa Rebirth, then get a load of the Muramasa Rebirth Blessing of Amitabha Collector's Edition -- now that's one long name. This special edition will come with a Hori Vita skin that will blend nicely with the corresponding area that it represents. For all you brave warriors that love to keep their blades in good condition, you are also getting a face cover and pouch that has Muramasa Rebirth's logo branded on them. On top of all this sweet ninja gear, Aksys is including a framed lithograph artwork by Vanillaware that remains hidden in the shadows for now.

Both versions of Muramasa Rebirth will be available on June 25th -- Well look at that, it's coming out on the day before my birthday, with the Blessing Edition running at US $59.99. Before I wrap up this post, people that pre-order any version of Muramasa Rebirth through Amazon or Gamestop will get a Muramasa Rebirth Abridge Soundtrack that comes with five songs that are compose by Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy Tactics, Odin Sphere, Crimson Shroud).

In case the header isn't big enough to see the goods, you can get a better look at Muramasa Rebirth's blessing in the gallery below.

Zero no Tsukaima author Noboru Yamaguchi passes away

Well this is unfortunate news.

Noboru Yamaguchi, author of Zero no Tsukaima and Green Green, has passed away. He'd been battling with cancer for quite some time, and in December was re-admitted into the hospital for treatment.

In his last few tweets from 2012 (he tweeted up until just a few weeks ago), he apologized for delaying the not being able to write the next Zero no Tsukaima novel as quickly as he would have liked. He went on to promise that once he recovered, he'd get straight back to writing.

He was 41 when he passed away.

If you'd like to leave your condolences or just send a message, his personal Twitter might be a good place to do it. You can also find Media Factory's official announcement here.

Our thoughts go out to his friends and family.
